Hollywood's Beauty Secret To Present 'Frownie Award' at the 2007 Festival
DAYTON, Ohio, Nov. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- B&P Company, the makers of
Frownies Facial Pads, Hollywood's Beauty Secret, is pleased to announce
its association with the 18th Annual Palm Springs International Film
Festival (PSIFF) as a Platinum Sponsor. B&P Company, the exclusive
skin care sponsor of the Festival, will be presenting the Frownie Award
for "Best Close Up" to an actress whose film is screening at the
Festival.
With over 250 filmmakers and world class celebrities
in attendance, an anticipated audience of 115,000+, as well as
filmmaker tributes, industry seminars, educational programs for
students and the glamorous black-tie Awards Gala, the Festival
continues to attract increasingly high profile national and
international sponsors.
"We are honored to welcome B&P
Company as a sponsor and delighted that they have chosen to present the
Frownie Award at the Festival. Their name recognition, along with their
well-deserved reputation for quality will add immeasurably to the
excitement of the Festival," said Festival Executive Director, Darryl
Macdonald.
The Frownie Award, which bears the inscription "I'm
ready for my close- up," was created by the makers of legendary
Frownies Facial Pads, a non- surgical face lift used by Hollywood film
stars and make-up artists for decades. Over the years, Frownies have
made it to the big screen on many faces. Gloria Swanson wore them in
the classic film "Sunset Boulevard." Frownies were also worn by Glenn
Close in Mars Attacks (1996), and had cameo roles on Gwen Verdon in
Cocoon (1985) and Meryl Streep in "Death Becomes Her" (1992).
"We are proud to support the world-renowned Palm Springs International
Film Festival," said Kathy Wright, who is the fourth generation of
women running the company. "Hollywood and Frownies have been a magical
combination since the early days of film."
Other actresses and
celebrities who use or recommend Frownies include Rene Russo, Fashion
Model Dayle Haddon, and many soap stars. Famous make-up artists
recommending Frownies include the House of Westmore, Oscar award-
winning artist David Anderson, and Emmy award-winning artist Eve Pearl.
