Eye Gels to Smooth Skin

As your skin ages, it may look dull and becomes susceptible to irritation, redness and fine lines. With aging, your skin may also get rough – but using glycerin regularly can make your skin smooth by filling in tiny cracks and prevent other problems associated with dryness.

Eye Gels Help Maintain Water Balance

Humectants in glycerin attract water from air and keep water in your skin. Glycerin minimizes water loss due to evaporation and maintains skin’s water balance on an intercellular level– so keeps skin well hydrated and nourished.

Eye Gels Help Nourish Skin

Because of its skin nourishing properties, glycerin can be used every day. Its regular use will help keep your skin healthy, soft and fresh. It is especially great to use in the winter time to help combat winter chill.

What to do to Enhances Skin Appearance

Glycerin acts as an emollient that keeps your skin not only moist, but soft and supple to touch. It makes your skin look healthier and attractive. Its therapeutic effects on wounds and other skin issues also lead your skin to look healthier and smoother.

What Helps Protect Skin

Glycerin increases epidermal layer thickness and improves barrier function. It locks moisture in helping to keep harmful chemicals and environmental elements out of your skin.

Organic Cactus Collagen & Aloe Vera

There’s a new buzz worthy ingredient in town and it’s taking the skin-care world by storm, succulents Frownies has been using succulents in our skin care for years but now these powerful plants can be found in everything from makeup to face creams. Various cacti succulents including aloe Vera grow in warm, dry regions, are part of a plant category that contains botanicals, and are adaptogens. These plants can survive harsh climates—and most store water.

Strictly speaking, using succulents in skin treatments is not a new thing—indigenous people have been utilizing succulent plants for centuries. Chances are you’ve been told to apply Aloe on a sunburn at least once in your life. Now due to the numerous studies on these wondrous plants, a fresh interest has sparked surrounding their power of resiliency and how that power is translated also to the skin.

So, what exactly is being harnessed from succulents? Such ingredients as: succulent oil extract, cactus collagen, and aloe vera—if you follow @Frownies you know #ingredientsmater and these ingredients matter!

Sodium Alginate:

Sodium alginate is extracted from mineral-rich brown seaweed. This fine white powder transforms into jelly when put in contact with water, creating a unique all natural texture for holding the other skin care ingredients—helping to absorb.

Hydrating sodium hyaluronate:

Sodium hyaluronate is powerful stuff. This gel-like water-holding molecule is a moisture-binding ingredient that helps keep skin plump and hydrated. And, it’s actually something our bodies naturally produce. Sodium hyaluronate sometimes called Hyaluronic Acid helps retain over 1,000 times its weight in water within the cells of skin, making it an excellent moisturizer.

Scientific studies have shown that Hyaluronic Acid improve hydration and production of collagen, fight free radicals, maintain skin elasticity, and even has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties that help with healing wounds.

So why do we need more if our bodies already produce it? Because the average human body contains about 15 grams of Hyaluronic Acid. However (at least) one third of that gets synthesized and degraded on a daily basis. Our skin also produces less as we age, go figure (eye roll). This is why many anti-aging products contain Hyaluronic Acid, and plastic surgeons are injecting Hyaluronic Acid into sunken areas of skin to plump it. Just choose Frownies all natural straight from the source skin care that contains Hyaluronic Acid for softer, fuller, smoother, more hydrated all natural skin.

Sodium Pyroglutamic Acid (PCA):

Sodium PCA is the sodium salt of pyroglutamic acid which is an uncommon amino acid found naturally in many proteins. pH balance of 6.8-7.4, Occurs naturally in human skin and is responsible for binding moisture to cells. Highly water-absorbent, holding several times its weight in water, making it an excellent humectant (moisture preserver). Know as The Skin-Penetration Enhancer—Sodium PCA is a naturally stronger hydrating agent, often way more so than other common compounds such as: propylene glycol.

Frownies recommends using only the highest quality of ingredients in all products. Luckily this means your money is not spread thin by buying multiple products, but instead the products you put money towards are able to be multi-purposed. This is due to organic, all natural ingredients and helps aid in reducing waste and the production of plastics!

Niacinamide (Vitamin B3:

Also known as vitamin B3 and nicotinic acid, niacinamide is one very effective skin-restoring ingredient that offers multiple benefits for maturing skin. Among these benefits is visibly improving appearance of large pores, uneven skin tone, fine line, dullness, and weakened surface skin! Niacinamide can also mitigate the damage environmental factors can cause

Phenoxyethanol:

We use phenoxyethanol in a very low concentration as a preservative because the most accessible alternatives for these types of formulas include parabens and formaldehyde-releasing preservatives. Both are classes of chemicals with demonstrable evidence of potential health risks such as cancer, whereas phenoxyethanol is very safe at low levels. It’s been tested on the skin and eyes and it is non-irritating and non-sensitizing at levels of 2.2% or lower while being effective at only 1% concentrations. The European Union and Japan both approve its use up to that 1% level and our formulas fall well below the recommendation. Also phenoxyethanol doesn’t react with other ingredients, air, or light. This kind of stability makes it an especially effective preservative.

Ethylhexylglycerin:

A natural preservative used as an alternative to parabens, it is derived from glycerin and can also be used as a deodorizer and skin conditioner. Ethylhexylglycerin servces as a surfactant and preservant enhancer and acts as a safe preservative in minute amounts. It’s a proven preservative-enhancer and is often used instead of controversial parabens.

Aqua:

For some ingredients, water is a crucial addition to the formula to boost effectiveness and act as a solvent. Certain ingredients are “hydrophilic,” which means they work best with water. This includes fruit acids, as well as various other plant-based extracts. With these ingredients, having water in the formula is essential to ensure best delivery to the skin. Also some active ingredients are extremely potent, so being slightly diluted by water won’t make them less powerful—having water in the formula will actually make them far more effective on the skin.

You can count on Frownies quality natural ingredients to help enhance the appearance of the under eye area of the face.
