Celebrating National Botox Day! Or Not?

 Happy National Botox Day!

Unless you somehow have avoided all TV commercials, print-ads, reality TV, and social media for the past 20 years, you have heard of the infamous injectable Botox.

According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, Botox is the most popular minimally-invasive cosmetic procedure with an estimated 4.4 million injections preformed last year.

National Botox Day only became a holiday as of November 20, 2019, which is apparently the biggest injection day of the year. Admittedly, the goal of National Botox Day is targeted advertising, special promotions, and increased awareness of the product.

So why would an all-natural, non-invasive skincare brand be celebrating National Botox Day? Our mission at Frownies is to empower women to honor, embrace, and celebrate who they are - however that looks for YOU!

Actually, the history of Botox is quite fascinating. The drug first received FDA approval in 1989 and was primarily used to treat eye disorders. And Botox Cosmetic did not become FDA approved as a wrinkle treatment until 2002.

But Frownies Facial Patches have been around 100 years longer than Botox! Invented in 1889, Frownies is the original “Wrinkle Eradicator!”

You may be surprised to learn that Botox and Frownies Facial Patches actually work in similar ways. Through the use of a targeted neurotoxin, Botox Cosmetic paralyzes the muscles underneath the skin of the face and allows the overlying skin to relax, smoothing the appearance of wrinkles.

Similarly, Frownies Facial Patches create a cast to prevent the facial muscles from moving; therefore, allowing the skin smooth out over a relaxed muscle. Over time, Frownies help retrain the facial muscles to relax, release tension, and lay flat. Smooth muscles results in smooth skin.

But Botox vs. Frownies doesn’t have to be an either-or choice!

Did you know you can use Frownies in conjunction with Botox injections? Using Frownies Facial Patches is a cost-effective way to extend the results of your Botox and save you money by getting fewer injections per year!

In some cases, Botox is unable to smooth certain wrinkles due to their specific cause. Dr. Jennifer Owens, MSc in Aesthetic Medicine, reports that some wrinkles may be caused by external forces, such as creasing your skin while sleeping on your face. In this case, paralyzing the facial muscles with Botox will not help eliminate the wrinkle, and the client would be better served by using Frownies Facial Patches in their sleep.

Dr. Owens does caution Botox users to wait at least 48 to 72 hours prior to applying the Frownies facial patches to avoid moving the Botox into unintended muscles of the face.

In addition, while you can’t get Botox while pregnant or breastfeeding, Frownies Facial Patches are totally safe! There are no active ingredients in the facial patches themselves as they work by creating a physical external cast, so nothing is being absorbed into the skin. Even better, the whole Frownies skincare line is all-natural and safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding!

So can Frownies Facial Patches really compete with the so-called wonder drug Botox? Don’t take our word for it - Check out a few comments from our loyal customers:

@kickitwitheatherh says, “I completely quit Botox and only do Frownies now!! Best results everrr”

@reneegormz comments, “Yep, ditched Botox years ago and don’t miss it! Frownies for life!”

@vic.doni writes, “About to turn 38 and I haven’t had injections yet. Just a good skincare lineup and Frownies for my 11 lines”

@healthy_living_with_jess boasts, “Frownies has completely changed my forehead and my angry 11s, Frownies for LIFE, GAME CHANGERS!!! Never have done Botox, never need to now!!!! I tell EVERYONE about these”

So, whether you’re looking for a cost-effective alternative to injectables, you are not a candidate for Botox due to pregnancy and breastfeeding, or you’re just trying to prolong the effects of your Botox treatments, Frownies is a great option for you!

Helen Morrison, Social Media Manager and great-great grand-daughter of the inventor of Frownies, suggests starting with the Frownies Facial Patches for the Corners of the Eyes and Mouth , which can be used in different configurations all over your face. If you’re looking to take your Frownies Facial Patches to the next-level, Helen recommends using the Rose Water Hydrator Spray  with the benefits of Organic Rose Hydrosol and Hyaluronic Acid.
