Simplify Your Beauty Regimen

Be weary of cosmetic advertising at drugstores and cosmetic counters! Advertising pushes a multitude of creams, lotions, and potions- making promises they could never deliver on.  Simplify: all you need is cleanser, moisturizer, toner and maybe an eye cream or skin serum. Frownies’ face wash, moisturizer, rose water, eye cream and skin serum are free from harmful chemicals and fragrances. Frownies’ ingredient labels are also simplified to only include ingredients that promote skin health.  

“Natural” 

Toxic synthetic chemicals are the biggest issue in the beauty industry today. It is a must to examine product labels with food and skin care to ensure we are not exposing our bodies to harmful chemicals. “Natural” and “All Natural” are NOT regulated label terms!!!

Fragrance Free is the way to be!

Federal law’s loophole: companies are not required to declare any of the DOZENS of toxic chemicals in a single products fragrance mixture. Artificial fragrances can trigger allergic reactions and other health problems. Be mindful of the hidden dangers “fragrance” and “perfume/parfum” listed on ingredients labels pose. Always choose fragrance free products. 

By-pass Petrochemicals 

These are used to make emollients (balms, creams, moisturizers, ointments, lotions, salves, etc.) for face cream. Petroleum by products can be contaminated by cancer containing impurities. Petroleum, the nonrenewable and environmentally unfriendly resource barely belongs in your car let alone on your skin. It is identified on labels as petrolatum, mineral oil, and paraffin.

Healthy Inside and Out

Diet and exercise should play vital roles in our skincare regime. A good sweat keeps nutrient-carrying blood circulating throughout our bodies. Feed yourself plenty of protein, healthy fats (omega 3’s, fish oils, or flaxseed oils), complex carbohydrates, vegetables and fruit. Also drinking plenty of water—six to eight glasses of water a day will help flush out toxins that might otherwise show up on your skin.
