How to Apply Frownies Around Eyes & Mouth
1. Separate the facial patches along the perforations to the desired sizes. We recommend using the smallest, individual shapes to contour to your unique facial structure.
2. Wet the shiny side of the facial patches with Frownies Rose Water Hydrator or warm water to activate the starch-based adhesive side. Set the facial patches aside until they become tacky and begin to curl slightly, for up to 90 seconds.
3. Gently massage the intended area of the skin for approximately 10 seconds to increase circulation and blood flow.
4. With one hand, separate any creases in the skin while applying the facial patches with the other hand. For best results, overlap the facial patches and cover the entire facial muscle.
5. Wear Frownies Facial Patches overnight, or for at least three hours, to relax facial tension and retrain facial muscle. Remember, consistent use makes for the best results!
6. To remove, soak the patches with a wet washcloth or by splashing your face with plenty of warm water. Gently slide your fingers underneath the patches to remove. Alternatively, you can remove them during your morning shower or even sweat them off during your workout!

Frownies are the original beauty-sleep secret designed to help visibly soften the look of lines around the eyes and mouth, including crow’s feet, smile lines, and nasolabial folds.
Frownies for the Corners of the Eyes and Mouth are made from the same paper and the same water-activated adhesive as our iconic Forehead & Between Eyes Frownies, just cut into a variety of shapes that fit the natural contours around the eyes and mouth. They’re also a great option for areas like 11 lines and horizontal forehead creases.
Worn overnight, Frownies gently hold the skin in place while you sleep and help reduce the appearance of static expression lines over time. Think of it as giving those tiny, expressive areas a chance to clock out for the night.

Frownies Facial Patches should always be applied to clean, dry, skin. After washing your face and applying your skincare, give the skincare time to absorb into the skin. You will then be ready to apply your Facial Patches.
When you open your box of Frownies Facial Patches for wrinkles on the forehead and between the eyes you will find long strips of paper patches that are perforated into triangles. We recommend you tear the patches along the perforations to separate them into triangles.
Once the triangles are separated, you will notice there is a shiny side and a matte side. Spray the shiny side of the patches with Frownies Rose Water Hydrator (or use warm water if you do not have our Rose Water). Use your finger to spread the water around on the back of the patch to be sure you are wetting all of the adhesive.
Once you have sprayed the patch, set it down on your countertop to give the adhesive a moment to get tacky. Proceed to spray several more patches and set them down. You will start to notice the patches beginning to curl as the adhesive is getting tacky; this is a signal that your Frownies are ready to be applied to the face.
Gently massage the area where you will be placing your Frownies. Hold the skin smooth with your fingers (do not pull on the skin), apply one patch at a time, overlapping the patches as you go.
Once you apply the patches, continue to press on them until they adhere to the skin. It helps to hold them down for about 15-20 seconds once you have them on.
We recommend applying the first patch in between the brows and then extending out from there; covering the full forehead from the eyebrows to the hairline and from hairline to hairline side to side.
This is the most effective application technique whether you have only eleven lines, forehead lines, or both. The facial muscles are connected and in order to relax the muscles and smooth the lines you want to cover the full forehead until you achieve the results you are looking for.
Wear your Frownies Facial Patches every single night for the first 30 days to begin to build some muscle memory and retrain the muscles to relax. After the first 30 days you can reevaluate and decide if you need to continue wearing them nightly or if you are able to wear them less often (a few nights a week). It will be different for everyone depending on how expressive you are, how deep your lines were to start, skin type, and age.
When you remove the Facial Patch in the morning we recommend using a lot of warm water and gently sliding your fingers under the patches as you splash them with water. Be patient, go slowly, and be gentle with removal. If you are someone who showers in the morning you can get in the shower with them on and the warm water and steam will help dissolve the adhesive.

Frownies Facial Patches are non-invasive wrinkle reducing patches worn while you sleep or for a minimum of three hours. Frownies Facial Patches act to form a cast, holding the facial muscles flat, preventing expressions that cause wrinkles. Q: Do I have to use Frownies Facial Patches every night?
A: We recommend using Frownies Facial Patches every night for 30 nights to begin seeing longer lasting results. After you have achieved the results you're looking for you can wear your Frownies less often. We recommend a minimum of three to four days a week in order to maintain proper facial posture. Fine lines may be smoothed in less than 30 nights and your application can be adjusted to suit your needs.
Q: How long does one box last?
A: Each box of Frownies Facial Patches contains a long strip of perforated paper that can be torn into 144 individual patches. Typically Frownies users wear 4-6 patches per night for partial coverage or 6-10 patches for full coverage, depending on the length and depth of their lines and the size of their forehead. In general, you will get approximately 15 - 35 applications of nightly wear from one box.

A: We recommend covering the full forehead from eyebrows to hairline, and hairline to hairline side to side, overlapping the patches to minimize imprints around each patch. When you apply the patches be careful not to pull or over stretch the skin. After removing your patches apply Frownies Moisturizer or Skin Serum and the imprint will quickly fade.
Q: The Frownies are a little too large is it okay to cut it to a smaller size?
A: Yes. Trim the edges down to a size that is comfortable for you.
Q: Does the shiny backing peel off?
A: No. The shiny backing is a natural, dry, adhesive that is water activated. Simply moisten the shiny side with Frownies Rose Water Hydrator Spray.
Q: I am having trouble making the patch stick what am I doing wrong?
A: Make sure you are applying the patch to freshly washed skin and all your skin care is fully absorbed. Frownies won't stick well on top of a thick, heavy night cream or face oil. The patch could also be a little too wet or not wet enough. If using the Rose Water Hydrator Spray, one or two pumps is sufficient. Spreading the liquid around with your finger is also helpful. Letting the wet patch sit for 15 seconds before applying it will help the adhesive get tacky before you place it on the skin.
Q: Can I use my night creams with Frownies?
A: Frownies Moisturizer is a perfect compliment to the patches because it absorbs quickly. If trying the patches with other creams or moisturizers make sure you allow at least 15 minutes absorption time before applying the patch.
Q: Can I use Frownies Facial Patches with skincare actives like retinol and exfoliating acids?
A: Skincare actives, including retinol and exfoliating acids, may increase the chance of skin sensitivity. For your safety, we discourage use of Frownies Facial Patches on irritated skin. As always, follow the directions provided with your skincare products and consult your licensed skincare professional if you have specific concerns about your individual skincare routine.
Q: Will the ingredients in Frownies Facial Patches react with my other products?
A: Frownies Facial Patches do not contain "active" ingredients. However, if you suspect an issue we suggest testing the patch with the products in question on you forearm.

A: There are no active ingredients. The results are due to a muscular response to the Facial Patches. Frownies patches act similar to a splint or cast where it helps limit expressive facial movements.
